European Growth Summit
Growth in one Europe without barriers but high standards
took place on June 7th 2008 at IESE Business School in Barcelona.
Under the patronage of Günter Verheugen, EU Commissioner responsible for Enterprise and Industry
250 participants - entrepreneurs, politicians, scientists - from across Europe were attending this high-level conference in Barcelona, where five leading entrepreneurs organisations were discussing entrepreneurial recommendations for a more competitive Europe with Mrs. Erler, Head of Cabinet of EU-Vice-President Guenter Verheugen, Commissioner for Enterprise and Industry. The conference also dealt with the huge potential of the golf states to compensate for the financial crises in the west, ways how to fund companies with equity without losing control and the participants got an update on the enormous needs and potential in the clean energy sector in detail. OUR ORGANISATION
Europe's 500 founded 1996 is an European non-profit membership and networking organisation for growth entrepreneurs dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and growth in Europe. We represent more than 2000 growth entrepreneurs in Europe who have been listed and awarded at least once under the list of the Top 500 Growth Entrepreneurs in Europe.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Europe's 500 wants to contribute to an environment more favourable to entrepreneurship by developing initiatives in favour for growth and are looking for a dialogue with the EU institutions. We thereby contribute to growth and job creation in Europe.
OUR ACTIVITIES
1. Europe's 500 Listing and Award Ceremony
Every year since 1996 we select and publish the list of the Top 500 Growth Entrepreneurs in Europe and award them for their outstanding achievements related to growth and job creation. Every growth company is invited to register for the ranking under certain criteria. Please click here to get the information about the criteria. The participation to the ranking is free of charge.
2. Europe's 500 Growth Summit
Each year we organise a conference gathering well-known keynote speakers, politicians and the elite of European growth entrepreneurs to meet, discuss topics of their interest and exchange their experiences and finally develop recommendations for politicians and decision makers to improve the environment for growth entrepreneurs.
The Growth Summit 2008 will take place in Barcelona at IESE Business School in June, 2008. Detailed information will be published soon.

3. Europe's 500 Roundtable for Growth
The Roundtable for Growth provides an unique opportunity to directly present and discuss growth entrepreneurship challenges with the EU Commission, for example with Vice-President Günter Verheugen, responsible for Industry and Enterprise or Prof. Danuta Hübner, EU-Commissioner for Regional Policy.
